Every one of our staff is trained in First-Aid and CPR. They are experienced and have completed all of their Early Childhood Credentials courses required by the state. We are very proud of the fact that we have an extremely low employee turnover rate. Our teachers are very committed to the high quality of child care that Kidskool offers.
Robin has been with Kidskool since 1993. She is extremely organized and prepared each week with artwork, lesson plans, etc. The children learn so much from her! You may find her riding scooters across the floor with them or taking time to explain life's little questions as they come to a child's mind. According to Robin, "I really enjoy opening the center each morning to greet the parents and children! They give me smiles and hugs and seem ready to start their day with us!"
April is the newest staff member here. She has a lot of experience with preschool and school-age children. April is currently enrolled in the NC Early Childhood Credentials class. Patience and kindness are her strongest assests. "I feel like it's important to greet parents and children with a smile each morning" she says. Our two year olds are very lucky to have her!"
Miss Cookie, as the children affectionately call her, works in the afternoon and closes the center each day. Her communications with parents is very important since she often passes on information about situations that have surfaced throughout the day. She is very efficient and keeps Kidskool looking spotless! When asked what she loves most about working here, she responded, "I love getting to know the parents as much as the children." She also added, "The biggest joy for me is watching children as they grow and mature, especially when they move from the two-year old class to the threes."
Karen has owned Kidskool, along with her husband, since April 1998. "We always had been in business for ourselves, and wanted to get involved in a service industry that was fun, rewarding and had a huge need. Since we both love working with children at church, as well as being very involved in our daughters' schools, daycare seemed like a perfect match. "We actually bought Kidskool from childhood friends of my husband's!" He was born and raised in Union County and we both wanted to fulfill a need in the community. According to Karen, "If at all possible, I prefer to spend most of my time at the center being involved with the children. Paperwork and such can be done at home. Why miss out on an opportunity of having a child just really make your day; or better yet, maybe you can even make theirs?"
